Youth Safety Action Day 2021

This year we are not only celebrating our 25th year as a safety association, but it is also our tenth Youth Safety Education Day! Young people are a significant part of our workforce and are the most at risk for injury on the job. Do you know ten people under the age of 25? One of them will be injured on the job this year. Unfortunately, a young person's first work experiences are not as rewarding as they should be.

What is Youth Safety Education Day?

Youth Safety Education Day began on September 10, 2012. It was designed to bring safety education and awareness to our province's youth (ages 15-24) about the importance of workplace health and safety and is proclaimed by the Government of Saskatchewan every year for the last ten years. Youth are heading back to the workplace – whether after the summer break, the pandemic shutdown, or starting their first jobs. That is why there is no better time than in September to focus on workplace health and safety. Gaining this information before they step foot into the workforce or while employed in their first jobs is a critical step in workplace injury prevention.
