Chapter Activities

Awareness Ideas

A comprehensive collection of awareness and fundraising ideas that SADD Saskatchewan chapters have used successfully across the province.

Awareness Events

These activities have proven most effective at generating real impact and conversation in schools across Saskatchewan:

White Out Day
Every half hour, a student is "killed" — removed from class wearing a white shirt reading "I was killed." At day's end, all victims gather outside to visually demonstrate the scale of impaired driving deaths in a single day.
Mock Collision
Stage a realistic impaired driving crash scene at your school, complete with emergency responders. This visceral experience makes the consequences real for students.
Impaired Goggle Obstacle Course
Students navigate an obstacle course while wearing goggles that simulate various levels of impairment — providing firsthand experience of how alcohol affects perception.
Casket Display
Place a casket in a prominent school location with empty cans and other props to represent impaired driving deaths.
Check Stop Participation
Work with local police and RCMP at holiday check stops, handing out candy canes with SADD messaging.
Bulletin Board Messages
Create powerful and thought-provoking bulletin board displays throughout the school during awareness campaigns.
Video & Presentation Days
Host screenings of impaired driving education videos (from SADD Saskatchewan's video library) followed by discussion.
