Ideas for your chapter



  • Give out donuts – “Donut” drink and drive
  • Flashlights with SADD logo
  • BARF (Be a Responsible Friend) bags
  • SADD ribbons on cars
  • SADD impaired goggles obstacle course
  • Taco in a bag, jello sales – fundraiser
  • White Out Day – every half hour someone “dies” – someone is taken out of class and has to wear a white shirt with “I was killed” written on it and can’t talk all day. AT the end of the day, everyone who was “killed” gathers outside to show the impact of impaired driving in a single day.
  • Mock collisions
  • Have a casket in the school with a skeleton in it – place empty cans and fake marijuana on it
  • Guess how many can tabs are in a jar
  • Ice cream/sundae float sales
  • Decorate liquor bags with safe driving messages
  • Bulletin board messages
  • Videos and presentations in school
  • Participate in check stops – hand out candy canes with SADD messaging
  • Presentations at elementary schools about SADD and invite to join SADD when they get to high school
  • SADD Christmas tree ornaments – sell for remembrance of a loved one lost due to impaired driving
  • After drivers ed class, hand out air fresheners with SADD message on it
  • Food sales with slogans like “Be a smartie, don’t drink ad drive”
  • Wake-A-Thon – students collect pledges
  • Mocktail /Slushie sales
  • BYOB (Bring Your Own Banana) – make a banana split
  • Bake sale
  • Hot dog/Hamburger sales
  • Hot chocolate sales
  • Pumpkin carving contest
  • SADD merchandise
